Detached House with Swimming Pool – Apolpaina, Lefkada

This particular residence is an exploration of the composition of diverse materials, where the monolithic geometry of concrete is combined with natural construction techniques.

Structure & Materials

Building Volume: Use of clean, white prismatic volumes alternating with recesses in a dark grey (anthracite) colour, creating depth and a visual hierarchy on the façade.
Stonework: Cladding of selected surfaces with natural stone of irregular cross-section. The stones have been laid with minimal joints, emphasising the robustness of the structure and providing high thermal inertia.
Shading & Privacy Systems: Installation of vertical wooden louvres in frames, which function as movable or fixed sun-shading elements, lending an organic texture to the minimalist design.

Construction Details

Site Layout: Use of industrial flooring and smooth concrete surfaces in the access areas, ensuring durability and a consistent aesthetic with the interior of the property.
Window and Door Frames: Installation of minimalist aluminium frames with a slim profile, integrated into the floor, to fully integrate the interior living area with the pool deck.
Water features: Construction of a swimming pool with a perimeter overflow, clad in earth-toned materials to blend seamlessly with the surrounding garden.
